About Duncan
Duncan Hoss is a lifelong Clark County resident, a dedicated public servant, and a firm believer that local government works best when it listens—really listens—to the people it serves.
With over 30 years of experience in the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Duncan has built a career around integrity, accountability, and collaboration. As the current Chief Civil Deputy, he leads with a steady hand and a clear head, navigating complex challenges while staying grounded in the values that matter most: fairness, transparency, and respect.
But Duncan’s commitment to service doesn't stop at his badge. He's also a part-time instructor at Portland Community College, helping to shape the next generation of civic-minded leaders. Whether mentoring students or rolling up his sleeves at a local community event, Duncan believes in showing up, pitching in, and doing the work.
He’s running for the Charter Review Commission because he knows Clark County can do better when we come together to find smart, effective solutions that put the public first.
When he's not working, you'll find Duncan spending time with his family, walking his dog in one of our local parks, or sipping a (well-earned) cup of black coffee while catching up on Clark County news.
Rooted in the community. Ready to serve.
